The connection between the forest and financial returns was first made for John as a college freshman studying economics and while working in the family lumber business. That discovery sparked a passion that's been the guiding North Star for three decades in creating enhanced returns from forest resource investments.
John has led multi-billion-dollar timber, real estate, lumber, and panel businesses for leading North American Timber REITs and as CEO of Deltic Timber Corporation. He has played key leadership roles in the sector's most significant transitions, such as the $23 billion Weyerhaeuser/Plum Creek transaction and the $3.4 billion Deltic Timber/Potlatch merger.
John grew up in Mississippi, receiving a B.S. in Forest Management from Mississippi State University, an M.B.A. from Brenau University, as well as, attending The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania Executive Education Program.
